Starting wage: £13.50 per hour, increasing with experience and progression within the role
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable seamstress to join our lovely studio team in the heart of Bristol, supporting the production of our stock and made to order pieces.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys garment construction, takes pride in producing high quality work and is comfortable working independently within a busy studio environment.
Responsibilities
- Using Industrial Sewing Machines, including Overlocker, Flatbed and Coverstitch (some training will also be given)
- Sewing both woven and stretch fabrics
- Following patterns, samples and tech packs
- Cutting fabrics accurately according to patterns
- Completing garments neatly and to a high standard
- Carrying out quality checks
- Supporting general studio production when required
Ideal candidate
- Has previous sewing or garment-production experience
- Confident using industrial sewing machines, overlockers and coverstitch machines
- Understands garment construction and basic pattern terminology
- Comfortable working with a variety of fabrics, including stretch materials
- Works accurately and pays close attention to detail
- Can work independently and manage their time effectively
- Reliable, proactive and willing to learn
- Interested in slow fashion, independent brands and UK-made clothing
Experience within a professional sewing, alterations or garment-production environment is preferred, although applications from confident recent fashion graduates are also welcome.
